Giant Spoon Promotes 4 in Its Strategy Department

Marketing innovation agency Giant Spoon announced four promotions in New York and Los Angeles: Caleb Smith and Adam Wiese were named to the position of associate director of strategy; Corbin Brown and Albert Kugel will now serve as senior strategist.

Smith received the promotion from senior strategist, a position he has held since joining the agency in April of 2014. Prior to joining Giant Spoon, he spent six months as senior social engagement strategist with Translation LLC. That followed over two years with OMD USA as social strategist, where he led strategic application of social media marketing across all platforms. Before that, he worked in traditional & digital strategy with OMD for two years.

Wiese joined the agency in August of 2014, also as a senior strategist. Before Giant Spoon, Wiese spent nearly a year and a half as a freelance strategist, working with clients such as Quiksilver, DC Shoes, Roxy and SenseLabs. That followed a little over a year as a product and innovation strategist with brain-based biosensor and software company Neurotopia. Prior to that he spent around two years with TBWA/Chiat/Day, first as a junior digital strategist and then as a junior planner. While with TBWA, he worked with brands including Gatorade, Activision, Nissan, Visa, Pepsi and adidas.

Brown joined Giant Spoon as a project manager in January of 2014 and was then named to a strategist role a year later. He joined the agency from Horizon Media, where he served as a media planner for six months, following a promotion from the junior media planner role he had held since joining Horizon in August of 2012.

Kugel joined Giant Spoon as a strategist in October of 2014, following over two and a half years as a client manager for Landor Associates. While with Landor some of his key clients included Johnson & Johnson, Verizon and Booz Allen. Prior to that he spent a year as account manager for Radioscope and seven months as manager, brand partnerships for Clear Channel Communications. He has also served as an interactive production coordinator with CP+B and digital copywriter with ReflexAmerica.
