G2 Parts Ways with Lehouillier, Promotes Two to GCD

By Kiran Aditham

It seems it’s been fairly quiet this year when it comes to staffing changes at G2 ever since Bruce Henderson joined up as CCO in late January. But now, we’re getting reports from sources familiar with the matter that there’s some “restructuring” happening within the creative department. One of the changes as a result is the exit of Rene Lehouillier, who was bumped up last year to co-ECD (along with Geoff Council) of the agency’s relationship marketing practice. Lehouillier (pictured) had been with G2 USA for 18 months. Prior to joining the agency, he spent 15 years at OgilvyOne, starting as an ACD and eventually moving up to executive creative director.

While G2 has lost an ECD, the agency is also promoting from within, appointing current creative directors Mark Chew and Todd Stanton to GCD. Chew has spent well over four years at G2 USA while Stanton joined eight months ago. We’ve been told that under Henderson’s lead, the “lines are blurring” at the agency and that creative roles (among others) are becoming more broad and less attached to one specific practice, such as relationship marketing.
