G2 Brings Home 1-800-Flowers.com, Additional Aetna Business

It’s good to start the holidays on somewhat of a high note as sources familiar with the matter confirm that G2 has nabbed the 1-800-FLOWERS.com media account. From what we’re hearing, there was a review. As of August, the media agency listed for the brand was indie firm, TargetCast tcm. Update: TargetCast didn’t lose the 1-800 business. G2 is just handling the digital side.

In addition to 1-800, G2 brought on additional Aetna work, specifically the insurance brand’s B2B account. Aetna had already been a longtime G2 client and from what our sources tell us, the agency was awarded the additional new business following the agency’s Healthy Food Fight campaign that was launched during the summer.  We’re told the 1-800-Flowers.com and new Aetna business is worth an estimated $3 million.  Well, at least it’s something.

Update 2: A tipster tells that estimates for 1800Flowers.com is actually $4 million in media and creative display banners and Aetna B2B is $3 million plus fees. A little bit more chunk of change than initially thought if true.
