-Opportunity International, which provides small business loans, access to savings and insurance to over 20 developing countries, has tapped the Martin Agency to develop a global brand strategy and platform. This marks the organization’s first engagement with a full-service brand agency in recent years.

-Hair care brand Thermafuse has appointed fellow North Carolina operation BooneOakley as its new agency of record. BO, which beat out two other undisclosed NC-based shops in the review, takes over for Texas-based Glint Advertising & Design. Glint did not compete. The $1+ million Thermafuse ad budget will go to trade print, online and traditional direct marketing.

-Diageo enlisted the help of San Diego-based design/innovation agency Bulldog Drummond to promote its new wine, Stark Raving, to male GenXers and Millienials (visual sample above).

-Saatchi & Saatchi has announced its call for entries for its 2013 New Directors’ Showcase. Go here for info and check out last year’s Showcase here. Deadline for entries is Monday, April 15.
