When last we left Faris Yakob, he’d just departed from McCann Erickson and the EVP chief technology strategist job he accepted in 2008. We’ve heard from multiple sources he’s taking a position within MDC Partners in a planning/strategy role. We’re certain this is a senior position, but MDC chose not to comment.
A contingency of the agreement was that Yakob could take three months to write a book, we’ve learned. The topic will apparently pick up the same topic of his blog “Talent Imitates, Genius Steals” — where he discusses issues pertaining to the existence or not of originality. All in the context of brand communications, of course.
