Factory Design Labs Picks Up Creative Duties for Callaway

By Kiran Aditham

Well, that was fast. Just two weeks after we reported that San Francisco agency Eleven and Callaway Golf ended their four-year relationship, we’ve received the news that Denver-based Factory Design Labs has been named the new creative AOR for the brand. Could we call this a score for Blake Ebel, the former Euro RSCG Chicago CCO who left to take on the same post at FDL almost a year ago?

Anyhow, it’s not the most irrational move for Callaway seeing as Factory Design Labs has already served as its digital agency of record. Now, the shop’s just responsible for all strategy, advertising, creative and production for the brand. FDL’s CEO Scott Mellin says in a statement, “Extending our relationship with Callaway Golf to include all advertising in addition to digital is a great honor. One that we take with a great deal of respect and responsibility.  Our teams have proven their knowledge of the business and the ability to execute.”
