Euro RSCG Loses Jaguar

By Kiran Aditham

Mumbai-based giant Tata Motors, parent company of Jaguar, is taking its advertising business for the brand in-house, thus leaving Euro RSCG out to dry. Said agency handled the account since 2005 and according to Adweek, Euro has been notified and will complete its handoff of Jaguar in 90 days’ time. Well, at least there’s Sprint, Durex/Scholl and Groupon wins to fall back on. As for Jaguar, Tata will likely set up a U.S. agency for the automaker in California, the trade reports.

We’re trying to reach out to Tata to ask why the company is bringing the ad business for a brand the size of Jaguar in-house. Guess the goodwill from the Euro’s “Gorgeous campaign” didn’t stick. From what our spies tell us, the agency is a bit “shocked” by Tata’s decision…obviously. What say you? Smart move? Poor decision on Tata’s part?
