Duncan/Channon Follows Account Wins with Loss, Makes Some Cuts

By Kiran Aditham

Can’t win ’em all, we suppose. Sources familiar with the matter tell us that San Francisco-based shop Duncan/Channon, which just picked up the Ancestry.com and 1-800 Contacts business before that, has had to let go of around 14 people across departments. Why? Well, according to our sources, D/C has lost the Esurance business to Deutsch LA. From what we’ve been told, the agency shift may have had something to do with Allstate’s recent acquisition of Esurance. Neither Deutsch nor the Esurance camp immediately provided comment on the matter but Duncan/Channon has confirmed the layoffs (current staff count is in the high 60s). As always, stay tuned. In the meantime, here’s an example of D/C’s Esurance work above.
