Draftfcb’s Whiting Splits for Duncan/Channon

By Kiran Aditham

It looks like Robbie Whiting’s promotion at Draftfcb San Francisco just didn’t take. Barely three-and-a-half months after getting bumped up to SVP, director of integrated production and technology at the agency, Whiting has split for Duncan/Channon, where he will take on the rather similar-sounding role of director of creative technology and production.

Along with being impressed by D/C’s digital work for brands like Hard Rock, Whiting says in a statement that he was also attracted to the agency because he “…felt a strong connection to the team’s non-traditional creative spirit and was impressed by the care with which they’ve nurtured the agency’s principles and artistic culture.”

As mentioned back in June when we reported on his Draft promotion, Whiting’s advertising resume also includes a five-year stint at TBWA\Chiat\Day LA, where he served as creative technology director, helped build the agency’s digital practice and worked with Nissan, Pepsi, Visa, Mars and Gatorade.
