Don’t Get Neuromarketing? Then This Rap Vid Probably Won’t Help Either

By Kiran Aditham

Over the weekend in Austin, Modernista!’s Gary Koepke participated in a SXSW panel discussion dubbed “Big Brother in Your Brain: Neuroscience and Marketing” and shared the stage with Dr. A.K. Pradeep, the president/CEO of Silicon Valley-based firm NeuroFocus. If the company’s name isn’t enough of a giveaway, NeuroFocus’s, well, focus is on neuromarketing, something Campbell has adhered to when redesigning its soup label that thrives on consumers’ fears and anxieties to produce results according to some. The NeuroFocus promotional video below, however, provokes neither of those responses with its nerd-rap, crunky beats and dry office interplay which continues a trend that seemingly will never end. Sit tight, though, for Pradeep’s Blue Steel gaze/pose at the end.

On the Modernista! blog meanwhile, if it so interests you, Koepke lays out the questions that were sent to him prior to his panel discussion followed by plenty of his thoughts.
