Domani Studios to Close Chicago Office

By Kiran Aditham

We’ve received confirmation that Domani Studios is shuttering its Chicago operation. While the ten-year-old digital shop, which is now solely based in Brooklyn, NY, has worked on Allstate digital projects with Leo Burnett, online Sprite efforts with CP+B and collaborated with the Martin Agency on the award-winning “We Choose the Moon” effort for the JFK Library,  we’ve been told that it’s been focusing less on agency production work nowadays. Anyhow, last we heard from the Domani camp, they hired UK digital creative Jon Lander as CD for New York and Chicago. We’re expecting to get you the what, why and how straight from the horse’s mouth shortly.

Update: As promised, here’s a statement from Domani Studios’ founder/executive creative director Jonathan Hills:

“The decision to close our Chicago office did not come easily. The Chicago team has contributed outstanding work over the years and have done so with a drive and a determination that is not easy to find.

It was a very difficult decision, but something that will put our overall business in a better place as it allows us to more aggressively invest in the growth we continue to generate here in New York. The announcement was made internally last month and the office will be open through the summer to allow for the completion of open projects and provide the staff time to evaluate their next steps. We have offered our Chicago staff the opportunity to join us here in Brooklyn and cross our fingers that a few of them decide to do so.”
