London Falling: D&G Closes Up U.K. Office (Updated)

By Kiran Aditham

There’s not a whole lot to go on at this point, but sources familiar with the matter do confirm that El Segundo, CA-based David&Goliath has closed the doors of its London office, which was opened over three years ago (along with a Frankfurt outpost), was the first branch launched by the agency outside of its HQ and was initially built to service Kia’s creative biz in Europe and beyond. As far as we can tell, D&G Frankfurt remains intact, as does the the gig of John Davis, who rejoined the agency after a stint at Deutsch LA and replaced Frazer Jelleyman to serve as ECD of its European operations nearly two years ago.

We’ll keep you posted as the story develops…

Update: Well, according to more sources, we’ve been told that two of the senior creatives at D&G London, Rob Porteous and Dave Askwith, have opened up their own creative consultancy called The Fire Department. We’ve also been told that the aforementioned John Davis has actually been back in the States for months and is currently freelancing in L.A., so where this leaves the D&G Frankfurt office is something to be determined. Once again, we’ll let you know.
