DFCB NY, London Retain Jamaica Tourist Board Biz

It looks like Draftfcb’s New York and London offices will continue holding hands with the Jamaica Tourist Board for the foreseeable future as the agency and client have extended their partnership for another five years. Following a “competitive review” for its global integrated account, JTB decided to stick to what it knows and re-up with DFCB NY, which leads the account, with a contract that will ensure said agency will be responsible for its ad biz through March 2017. The two parties have been intertwined since 1991 and Draft’s last contract with Jamaica Tourist Board was inked in 2003.

In a statement following JTB’s decision, which we’ve been told took “a long while” to come to, Draftfcb NY ECD Gary Resch says, ““The island is full of energy. The vibe of the people and natural character of the island will continue to be captured in our marketing communications efforts to ensure Jamaica is the preferred destination for its loyal, long-time visitors as well as the next generation of travelers.”

Since we’re fresh off the Olympics and seeing as he’s the fastest man in the world and all, here’s a Draftfcb ad from a couple of years ago for Jamaica Tourist Board starring Usain Bolt (below).
