We’ve received a memo that was sent to staff this morning confirming that Draftfcb New York CCO Darren Moran (pictured), who joined the agency from Y&R in September 2010, is “parting ways” with the camp (we’ve been told by an agency insider that “he did not quit” and that it was a “mutual decision”). DFCB NY director of integrated production Anthony Nelson will take over in the meantime as a search for a successor, according to the note sent by Dana Maiman, gets underway. I wanted to let you know that, after 15 months, Draftfcb New York and our Chief Creative Officer Darren Moran will be parting ways in the first quarter of 2012. Since joining us in October 2010, Darren has subsequently rebuilt our creative department with key hires from places like CP+B, Modernista and Arnold. In reaching this decision, Darren told us, “I’m thankful for having had the opportunity to rebuild an amazing department brimming with incredible talent, and to help bring in a few new business wins. I did what I set out to do, the agency’s on a great path, and I’m now looking forward to the next challenge. I wish my very smart and talented colleagues at Draftfcb continued success.”
During the search for Darren’s successor, Anthony Nelson, our director of integrated production at Draftfcb New York, will work with the existing creative leadership on a day-to-day basis. Anthony will also work closely with Tom O’Keefe, executive creative director of Draftfcb North America, who will provide ongoing support to the extended team. Jonathan Harries, our executive advisor for Global Creative, will continue to oversee work for our multinational clients Kraft and Beiersdorf, while Rich Levy continues to lead all of our healthcare-related work.
