Deep Focus has appointed Kara O’Neill as president of its New York office, reporting directly to founder and chairman Ian Schafer. In the new role, O’Neill, formerly managing director, will be responsible for overseeing Deep Focus’ growth and development.

A 20-year marketing veteran, O’Neill first joined Deep Focus in 2014, leaving Y&R New York, where she led the agency’s food practice for clients including Pepperidge Farm, Campbell’s Soup and Hillshire Farm. Before that she spent eleven years serving as general manager for BrandBuzz, where she managed a team of sixty and worked with clients including the NBA, Jim Beam and LG. She has also worked with Ranch 1 and Clarion Performance Propertie and clients including Coca-Cola, General Mills, NASCAR and Perrier.

“As a global agency, we are dedicated to applying modern solutions to modern problems that learn from the past, are built for the present, and push the industry and our clients toward the future,” said Schafer. “Kara’s focus on the evolution of our business, experience with some of the world’s best-known brands and passion for a people-first culture will enable us to be an even better Deep Focus.”
