Dear Agencies, Please Hire These Two Straight Girls or They’ll Get Married

By Kiran Aditham

We wouldn’t go so far as to call this a cheap ploy to get an agency’s attention, since one of them actually might get kicked out of the U.S., but Miami Ad School Brooklyn students Alex Otis and Charli Hoffmann have come up with an idea to keep their creative partnership going and keep Hoffmann (pictured) in the country (she’s from Germany, you see). The copywriter and interactive art director, respectively, are sending “Save the Dates” to various agencies and letting them know that Hoffmann’s visa expires on October 9 unless she gets hired or married (apparently, Otis “doesn’t want her partner to leave”).

So, thus springs the pair’s “Hire us so we won’t have to marry each other” effort. The two parties say they’re just “kindly requesting [that agencies] put a stop to this reluctant union” though we’re not sure if a thinly veiled threat (and a silly one at that) will help their cause. Is that the sound of wedding bells we hear? If you’re so inclined, agency folks, here’s their Facebook page and a way to reach them.
