DDB Canada Has a New President/COO

By Kiran Aditham

After spending the last five years heading up DDB’s Toronto office and overseeing work for clients like Subaru, Capital One and Canadian Blood Services, David Leonard has now been promoted to president/COO of DDB Canada.

Leonard originally joined the agency in 1994 when it was known as Palmer Jarvis and subsequently moved up to SVP, group account director where he helped transition PJ when it merged with DDB Worldwide in 1999. In 2001, though, Leonard left the agency to take the president/CEO post at Arnold Worldwide in Toronto before eventually returning to the DDB fold in 2005.

In his new post, Leonard will work alongside DDB Canada CEO/Chairman Frank Palmer and continue to manage DDB Canada’s Toronto operation while overseeing the management of its Edmonton and Vancouver offices. Before Leonard’s appointment, we’ve been told that the president/COO post had been vacant since Rob Whittle parted ways with DDB Canada in 2008 and that Palmer has been serving this role since his departure.
