Crispin/CHI Alum Clemans Heads to Taxi

By Kiran Aditham

This was originally set for Morning Stir, but perhaps this merits a longer post, especially since the last time we covered an ECD joining Taxi New York was nearly three years ago when the agency brought on Ron Smrczek (who has since headed to Taxi Europe to serve as ECD).

Anyhow, Dave Clemans, who could use a LinkedIn update, has now joined the WPP agency‘s New York office as executive creative director. Clemans arrives from CHI&Partners NY, where he held the same title and worked on Best Buy, Samsung and Virgin. Prior to that, Clemans was a creative director at CP+B (two stints, in fact) on Burger King Germany, Holland and Poland and also led creative on the VW “Safe Happens” campaign. During his first time out at Crispin, he was a key member of the team that created the “Truth” work.

Clemans’ new boss, Taxi Worldwide CCO Steve Mykolyn, sings his new hire’s praises in a statement (what else would you expect?), saying, “Dave is a proven big thinker. Put him in a room with a big problem and you know he’ll come up with an idea that hasn’t been thought of before.  That’s why he’s a perfect fit for TAXI.”
