Creative Director Ryan Raab Returning to Droga5 From BBDO

By Patrick Coffee

Copywriter and creative director Ryan Raab is returning to Droga5 after spending just over a year at BBDO.

Raab and art director Dan Kennealy met at Droga in 2013 and went on to work as a duo on the Newcastle, Johnsonville, Clearasil and Jockey accounts. We must also mention again that they appeared on Adweek’s “Ads of the Year” issue cover in 2014 along with Ted Royer and Scott Bell for the “If We Made It” campaign.

The two then left for BBDO last summer and went on to work on Foot Locker and Priceline, which has been relatively quiet in recent months since May’s Latrell Sprewell outtakes spot.

We reached out to Droga5 and Raab but haven’t heard back from either of them, so it’s not clear which accounts the shop’s newest creative director will work on (though Johnsonville and Clearasil are still going strong).

Raab has already left BBDO, while Kennealy will remain there as a CD.

The copywriter previously worked at Mother New York (Virgin Mobile, Google), CP+B (Burger King, Domino’s), Saatchi & Saatchi and Carmichael Lynch. We will update this post if we get more information on the move.
