CP+B Names 5 New Partners, Elevates Bogusky to Chief ‘Insurgent’ at MDC

By Matt Van Hoven

Crispin Porter + Bogusky informed us moments ago that they named five new partners, a move that includes the promotion of Alex Bogusky, who will be taking a lead role within his agency’s parent company MDC Partners.

Bogusky’s new title, Chief Creative Insurgent (see definition below), is a bit baffling, but according to the release will allow MDC Partners “to leverage Alex’s creative vision, marketing and branding expertise, and social media insights across the entire MDC Partners network. These transformational talent initiatives are an integral part of MDC’s commitment and dedication to lead the organization into the age of the creative revolution.”

Apparently it takes five people to replace Bogusky. New partners include Group Account Directors Laura Bowles, and Heather Faunce; Executive Creative Director Jeff Benjamin; Production
Director David Rolfe, and Executive Producer Winston Binch.

Bogusky’s still going to have a seat at his agency, where his title is founding partner.

The announce comes just a day after we learned that the agency’s Miami office laid off a number of traffic and studio employees.

Insurgent definition, per Merriam-Webster dictionary:
1 : a person who revolts against civil authority or an established government; especially : a rebel not recognized as a belligerent
2 : one who acts contrary to the policies and decisions of one’s own political party

Update: An agency representative tells us the five new partners will not get new titles.
