CP+B L.A. Hires a Pair of Creative Directors From W+K London

CP+B L.A. hired creative partners Barnaby Blackburn and Gustavo Kopit as creative directors.

The duo comes to CP+B L.A. from W+K London, where they have served as senior creatives since April of 2014. While with W+K, they worked on campaigns for Nike and Danish butter brand Lurpak. Their “Freestyle” campaign for the latter went on to win three Cannes Lions, three Clios and a D&AD wood pencil. Before joining W+K they spent nearly two years as a creative team at RKCR/Y&R, working with clients such as Virgin Atlantic, Land Rover, Oxfam and the BBC, for which they worked on a BAFTA-winning 2014 Winter Olympics campaign. The pair originally met while students at the post-graduate Watford Creative Ad Course before leaving to team up at RKCR/Y&R.

Their shared portfolio includes the aforementioned Lurpak work plus campaigns for Nike, BBC, Virgin and others as well as portraits of other famous duos like Bill and Ted.

“I’ve admired Barnaby and Gustavo’s work from afar for a while now, and am very grateful that they’d agreed come join us in LA,” said CP+B L.A. CCO Kevin Jones.

Moving forward, the duo will work across accounts. Infiniti is currently the largest piece of business handled in the Los Angeles office, which became its official global headquarters early this year after CP+B hired new creative leads.
