Copywriter Hawks Office ‘Treasures’ via Website

By Bob Marshall

After four years as a senior copywriter at Raleigh-Durham-based McKinney, Sanders Hearne is moving to Boston. However, four years at McKinney meant Hearne accumulated a wide array of crap treasures at his former job, much of it he is apparently unable to move north. His solution? Create one of the ugliest websites in the world where people can call dibs on his stuff.

At “Sanders Treasures,” interested customers can weed through items such as notebooks full of ideas, plastic novelty Eiffel Towers and an unopened bottle of Yoo-Hoo chocolate soda to find personal treasures in someone’s trash (or office white elephant gifts from Christmases past). Not only do we applaud Hearne for his charity (as all of this stuff is free to whoever calls “dibs” first in the comment section), but that 90s-era website design and soulful soundtrack makes a trip to “Sanders Treasures” a memorable experience indeed. But, online shoppers should note that Hearne isn’t paying for any of these diamonds in the rough to be delivered, so all of it must be picked up at McKinney’s offices in North Carolina. That being said, can someone pick up that bottle of Sir Richard’s Wild Irish Rose for us? We’d like the included paper bag as well.
