Coke’s Porn-y U.K. Facebook Promotion Pulled

By Michael Musco

According to the <a href="According to the Guardian, Coca-Cola was promoting a new campaign for Dr. Pepper through Facebook. Basically, the soft drink giant was taking over people’s personal statuses and putting whatever they wanted on it. Well, some 14-year-old girl’s very astute momma saw one of the status updates and apparently went ballistic, claiming that the message on her daughter’s status was a direct reference to a hardcore pornographic film (the infamous 2 Girls 1 Cup, says Social Times).

Coca-Cola said they’re sorry and said they will be conducting some investigation into its procedures. Some other statuses posted were, “Lost my special blankie. How will I go sleepies?”, “What’s wrong with peeing in the shower?” and “Never heard of it described as cute before.” This isn’t the first time though that something like this has gone down with Coke. Remember the subliminal girls made of ice on the vending machines (below)?

They’re getting as bad as Disney. A spokesman said, “It has been brought to our attention that the Dr. Pepper promotion on Facebook posted an offensive status update. We apologize for any offense caused. As soon as we became aware of this, we took immediate action and removed the status update from the application. We have also taken the decision to end the promotion. We will take all steps necessary to ensure this does not happen again”.

Adding insult to injury, Coca-Cola offered the mother theater tickets for a West End show and a night in a London hotel. Too bad she lives in Glasgow. Oh, Coke. You are so naughty. And how about that mother, what a freak she must be to know where the quote came from.
