Cigna Selects Hill Holliday

By Kiran Aditham

After seven months or so in review, the Cigna account has finally been awarded to Hill Holliday. Last we heard, in February, GSD&M was one of the agencies involved in the pitch, which also possibly included incumbent, Doremus.

As a result of its new Cigna AOR status, Boston-based HH will handle creative, media, digital and social media advertising for the global health service brand. In a statement, Cigna CMO Benjamin Karsch says of Hill Holliday, “Their integration of strategic and creative thinking is fresh and focused, demonstrating unique, forward-thinking on how to solve complex business challenges. Their understanding of modern marketing really aligned with our business philosophy and specifically, our vision for serving our customers.”

Karsch adds that the agency won,  in large part, because of its “fully integrated approach positioning CIGNA outside the traditional health care and benefits categories.”  Billings were not disclosed.
