Chuck Porter to Get Props from Ad Club Denver

By Kiran Aditham

Despite an admittedly less-than-agreeable week or so, the Crispin Porter + Bogusky machine soldiers on and sends some positive news our way with the announce that co-namesake Chuck Porter will be honored by the Ad Club Denver on April 20. The ACD will award the agency founder/chairman and MDC chief strategist with the 2011 Silver Medal for his contributions to the ad industry among other things.

In a statement, Ad Club Denver president Gregg Bergan calls Porter “an advertising legend and a living icon,” adding,   “From founding one of the preeminent advertising agencies in the world to his ground-breaking vision for the development of Boulder Digital Works, Chuck proves that creativity can be the most powerful catalyst for cultural change.  We are honored to have him as a member of our collective community.”

It was way back when in 1988 that Porter joined the Crispin Agency as a creative director/partner after spending years freelancing as a copywriter. His current role within the MDC fold calls for him to identify potential acquisitions and serve as a consultant to member agencies. If you’d like to see the man receive his award in person, it will cost anywhere from $20-60. Ticket info here.
