Campbell Mithun Out, Pitch In as BK’s Youth/Family AOR

By Kiran Aditham

After nine years spent creating Burger King’s more family-friendly, youth-oriented ads, Campbell Mithun will be replaced as the brand’s AOR for this specific business on July 1 by Culver City, CA-based firm Pitch.

Pitch, which has a client roster that also includes Hasbro and NBC Entertainment, isn’t new to the BK biz though as the agency has been the fast-food chain’s promotions AOR since 2008. In a statement, BK’s North American CMO Mike Kappitt explains the brand’s decision, saying, “We have worked with Pitch for several years in a variety of capacities and have been extremely pleased with their work. We believe Pitch is an agency partner with fresh thinking that understands our brand and the goals we are trying to achieve with the youth and family market.”

This marks the second big blow to Campbell Mithun this month, which lost the Tresemme and Nexxus accounts when Alberto Culver shifted creative duties to Arnold and Mullen.
