Campbell-Ewald Did Indeed Hire a New ECD in LA

By Kiran Aditham

Jeez louise, it took long enough. After literally hearing nothing from the Campbell-Ewald camp for nearly two weeks of inquiries, we’ve finally received official world that the Michigan-based agency had indeed appointed a new executive creative director for its West Hollywood office. Who, you may ask? Well, none other than Jim DiPiazza, who if you recall vacated his ECD post at San Francisco shop Swirl a few months ago after almost a year of service. Well, DiPiazza’s Cali agency tour continues as he’s signed on with C-E to, what tipsters say, “invigorate that office.”

Prior to his brief stint at Swirl, DiPiazza spent 18 months at Deutsch LA, where he served as a creative lead on Volkswagen and penned the “Black Beetle” campaign for the automaker. In addition to DiPiazza’s hiring, Campbell-Ewald has also welcomed former Siltanen & Partners CMO/Chiat LA alum Ruth Amir as director, solutions planning. The agency’s West Hollywood branch currently counts clients including Kaiser Permanente, Chicken of the Sea, Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, Ghirardelli and McKesson.
