California Lottery Names Olson Digital AOR

By Erik Oster

California Lottery has named Olson as its digital agency of record, tasked with providing strategic, creative and technology leadership, along with ongoing support and client service. The contract has an estimated value of $13.5 million for five years, with five yet-to-be priced one-year option periods.

Olson’s experience with similar clients was a likely impetus for the decision. The agency currently serves as AOR for the Minnesota State Lottery and also provides digital services for Ontario Lottery and Gaming and Atlantic Lottery. The account win follows the appointment of chief creative officer Kevin McKeon (formerly of  StrawberryFrog) this July.

“We pride ourselves for being purpose built for the new realities that matter to our clients, and we look forward to proving that by delivering great business results for the California Lottery,” said Olson president Margaret Murphy. “These are exciting times at Olson.”

Olson’s most recently visible work, ICYMI, was this kind-of-brilliant Marshawn Lynch home shopping channel video promoting Skittles.
