Berger Returns to Ogilvy, Takes CDO Post

By Kiran Aditham

After three years spent at MDC Partners as VP, digital innovation, Brandon Berger is returning to Ogilvy to take on the newly created position of global chief digital officer.

While at MDC, Berger was responsible for digital investments, partnerships and acquisitions (of which there were a couple) while providing digital strategy leadership for the holding company’s units, including of course Crispin Porter + Bogusky. Now back at O&M, where he originally served as a senior strategist from 2004-2007, Berger will work with the agency’s digital leaders across its operations, as a CDO is wont to do, and be in charge of both offer development and bringing the offer to clients.

Called “one of the very best digital thinkers and doers around” by Ogilvy’s global CEO Miles Young, Berger says in a statement, “I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to return to Ogilvy in this new role.  Ogilvy is the one true global network that has digital at its core. The opportunity to leverage the network’s strategic marketing leadership and creative firepower, along with the scale and resources around development, data, media and technology to bring innovation and invention to both existing and future clients is endless.”
