BBH New York launched a new spot for PlayStation hyping the upcoming release of Star Wars Battlefront on PS4, ahead of the new trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens today.
The 60-second spot, directed by Park Pictures’ Lance Acord, shows a Star Wars fan at work, looking longingly at a R2D2 toy. He flashes back to a childhood of obsessive Star Wars fandom with his best friend, who then appears outside his office window in an X-wing fighter. The spot then switches to in-game footage ahead of PlayStation’s “Greatness Awaits” tagline and a call for viewers to pre-order the game ahead of its release on November 17 — around a month before the new Star Wars movie. Fans of the franchise will likely relate to the nostalgia-mining of the ad, with the implication that the new game can bring them the same kind of excitement they remember from their youth.
