BBH London Takes Home One Show ‘Best of Show’

By Kiran Aditham

BBH London took home the “Best of Show” prize at last night’s One Show awards for the agency’s Johnnie Walker “The Man Who Walked Around the World” execution which starred actor Robert Carlyle. The 6 1/2-minute walking whiskey history lesson, which was directed by Jamie Rafn, also earned BBH London a Gold Pencil in the “Branded Content-Single” category.

As for other agencies that won big, it shouldn’t come as much of a shock that W+K Portland picked up a Gold Pencil in the “Television :30 – Single” category for “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” spot. The agency’s Portland office also picked up a Gold Pencil for its Nike “Livestrong” campaign. Meanwhile, TBWA\Chiat\Day LA’s Gatorade “Replay” effort continues to pick up awards as the agency follows up its Best in Show win at the ANDYs with One Show Gold in both the “Integrated Branding Campaigns” and “Branded Content – Campaigns” categories. BBDO New York didn’t go empty-handed either as the agency won “Experiential Advertising” Gold for HBO “Cube”. When it comes down to it, these ad awards just follow the same path as the Golden Globes and Oscars in that the outcome of the former predicts the outcome of the latter.
