Barbarian Group Hires First ECD

Former R/GA executive creative director Jay Zasa has assumed the first ECD at the The Barbarian Group. According to a statement from TBG’s CEO/co-founder Benjamin Palmer, “[Zasa’s] work is great, and he fits right into our culture here. He’s got an impressive track record for winning and producing great digital work. We are in the midst of some big progress here at the company and we’re excited to have someone as mighty as Jay in the group.”

During his five-year tenure at R/GA, Zasa spearheaded projects for Nokia, MasterCard, MTV, Nokia and Subaru (as well as the much-maligned “Amp Up Before You Score” iPhone app–but let’s not hold that against him). Prior to R/GA, Zasa spent six years as a copywriter at OgilvyInteractive. Along the way, he’s also picked up all the awards that ad folks salivate over including Cannes Lions, LIAA, Clio, Webby and Andy.
