Austin Theater Turns Texting-Related Tiff into Amusing PSA

By Kiran Aditham

The Alamo Drafthouse takes its no texting/no talking during movies policy quite seriously as proven by the recent actions taken by the Austin theater. After warning a woman twice to stop the clickity clacking on her phone, the Alamo gave her the boot without refund. You’d think all would be said and done, but the patron was peeved (and maybe soused?) enough to call the theater barely two hours later and go off. Her rant in turn inspired the Drafthouse staff enough to turn the message into its latest “Don’t Talk or Text” PSA (censored version above, but maybe still wear headphones) to really drive the theater’s message home.

On the Alamo Drafthouse blog, its founder/CEO concludes his post with this message:

Ma’am, you may be free to text in all the other theaters in the Magnited States of America, but here at our “little crappy ass theater,” you are not. Why you may ask? Well, we actually do give a f*$k.

Sincerely,

Tim League

Now, can we translate this PSA for the New York movie theater crowd?
