R/GA chief/honorary ANDYs chairman Bob Greenberg and his crew have created this call-for-entries campaign for the 2012 International ANDY Awards, which carries the message, “Enter Now Before The Apocalypse.” If you really fear the end is nigh (wait, isn’t there a Rapture also happening this month?), the ANDYs committee would like you to win “the last award of your life” before an asteroid destroys us all. Greenberg himself says that he wanted to “light a fire under people and give them a real sense of urgency to enter the ANDYs.” Some of the judges at next year’s fete including AKQA’s Rei Inamoto (who’s seemingly everywhere), Barbarian Group CEO Benjamin Palmer, Jimmy Smith and W+K’s Iain Tait. So yes, all the familiar names are in effect. Best of luck before we burn, folks.
