Alec Baldwin, Dan Marino Brainstorm Party Ideas in Leo Burnett Toronto’s Big Game Teaser for Amazon

By Erik Oster

Leo Burnett Toronto unveiled a teaser for Amazon’s first-ever Super Bowl spot, featuring a little star power courtesy of Dan Marino (Miami Dolphins quarterback, Ace Venture: Pet Detective) and Alec Baldwin (30 Rock, 30 Rock, 30 Rock).

The teaser opens with Baldwin and Marino talking Super Bowl party game plan in front of the fireplace. “Alright, let’s hear it,” Baldwin says, with Marino offering up “cheerleaders” as an idea. Baldwin is unimpressed, but is more taken with Marino’s next suggestion: a snack stadium. That he subsequently asks Alexa and not Marino what exactly that means seems a bit forced, but it’s also the only nod to the brand we get in the 30 seconds.

Beyond the teaser, details about the campaign are scarce, but the brand appears to be using the hashtag #BaldwinBowl to promote the upcoming big game ad. If we had to guess, we’d say the final spot will deal with the party itself (and perhaps its preparation), and may feature other celebrity appearances.

If Baldwin doesn’t say “Good God, Lemon!” we will be at least a little disappointed.
