South Carolina-based consumer financial services provider Advance America, which was purchased by Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego‘s Grupo Elektra in 2012, has chosen Zimmerman Advertising as its new agency of record, following a review conducted by Hasan + Co. As AOR, Zimmerman will be tasked with the handling the brand’s consumer outreach strategy, creative services, media planning and buying, digital and production.

According to sources close to the matter, the agency beat out competitors including BBDO, Cramer-Krasselt, Olson, Mullen and Erwin-Penland, incumbent on the account since 2002

“We were looking for a nimble team who truly understands the complex and demanding world of retail marketing,” explained Advance America senior vice president of customer experience Trudy Boyles. “We believe Zimmerman’s drive, experience and leadership gives us that undeniable advantage to grow our business and better serve our customers, especially in a competitive market.”
