ADC Adds ‘Designism’ Award to Mix

By Michael Musco

As part of its 90th Annual Awards promotional tour-de-force, the Art Directors Club will present its first annual Designism prize, which recognizes creatives who drive social and political change through their work.  Any work entered into any of the non-profit categories of the ADC 90th Annual Awards can be considered for the ADC Designism Award. Oh yeah, an additional $50 upon registering will lock you into contention.

ADC Designism was conceived in 2006 by Brian Collins, chairman/CCO at Collins, ADC officer and guy behind the Al Gore branding campaign from ’08, as an annual speaker event. So far, four events have taken place and each has examined the state of activism across all media, and what designers and creatives are doing to, quote the late Michael Jackson, “heal the world” and “make it a better place.” Oh yeah, and in other ADC Awards news, the deadline for the Design, ADC Design Sphere, Photography and Illustration categories has been extended to Jan. 28.
