Absolut Launches Part 1 of ‘Cee Lo Distilled’

By Bob Marshall

Last week, we showed you the trailer for Cee Lo Distilled, a 3-part miniseries that marks the collaboration of Absolut Vodka and music rag The Fader.

Similar to last year’s Absolut TBWA/Chiat/Day-created Jay-Z documentary NY-Z, the Facebook-exclusive film series follows a day in the life of a hip-hop icon, discussing Cee Lo Green’s beginnings in Atlanta-based rap group Goodie Mob and the ‘”Dungeon Family” (a collaborative that featured Goodie Mob and Outkast among others) to his apparent mastery in the studio to a “random” phone call from Busta Rhymes, who gushes over how amazing the man that unleashed “Fuck You” to the world is.

As cheesy as the phone call is, Cee Lo Distilled is shot beautifully and, similar to its predecessor, is the kind of film that diehard fans will really love. Will it push vodka? Well, that’s still sort of up in the air, because as popular as Cee Lo is these days, his star power is still nowhere near that of Jay-Z. But, if you enjoyed part 1, you can watch its sequel starting July 6 on Absolut’s Facebook page.
