Truly, filming a baby and putting in on YouTube is a pretty cliched way of garnering views. But, what about having a baby talk to you about female genital mutilation through balloons while it stares at you with dead eyes? Well, that’s something else.
Created with the hope of becoming the most “disliked” video on YouTube (it currently has 200), “The Dislike Baby” is as jarring as it is interesting. Hey, we can’t have the likes of Justin Bieber and Rebecca Black hogging all of YouTube’s ill will, can we? The video links to the website of the Orchid Project, an organization that seeks to end FMG globally. Is this an actual video from the Orchid Project, or is it along the lines of the entries for Cannes’ “Good Works” film projects? Either way, it got our attention.
