Omnicom announced the appointment of Torrey La Grange to a newly created position of chief talent officer of its Global Clients Leaders (GCL) group, which is made up of executives who oversee the holding company’s top global accounts.
La Grange, previously head of account management and global business director at BBH New York, will work directly with each GCL executive to shape and support their roles. This will be done by expanding development programs, talent sharing platforms and recruiting strategies, among others, according to a statement from Omnicom.
“At a time when our industry is seeing so much change, I’m thrilled to bring my experience to an organization that believes that a continued focus on world-class creativity and talent development will drive business success,” La Grange said.
In a statement to Adweek, an Omnicom spokesperson said GCL currently oversees 25 of the agency network’s largest global accounts.
“These account leads manage teams charged with driving integrated solutions across Omnicom’s networks and disciplines on behalf of our clients,” the representative added. “Based on the group’s success, Torrey has been brought in to help develop and train Omnicom’s top business leaders as we expand the number of clients in the group.”
Omnicom declined to comment on how many clients it expects to add to the group, or how that could affect its agencies.
At BBH, La Grange managed global teams in New York, India, Singapore and South Africa, overseeing client relationships, strategic insight and creative. Before that, she served three years as a recruiter at Tangerine.
