Last week, Dos Equis made an unexpected decision to shift its creative account from Havas Worldwide to Droga5 without a review. Exciting news for Droga5. Not so much for Havas.
Havas apparently isn’t too down about it, though, and is ready for its next big adventure. As a send-off to its longtime client—Havas first started working with Dos Equis in 2006, when the agency was operating as Euro RSCG—it took out a full-page ad in Adweek’s print issue this week.
The ad recognizes Havas’ past glories on the brand, listing all the awards that the renowned “Most Interesting Man in the World” campaign received, dating back to 2008. The font size is pretty minuscule, too, just to show how many awards the agency won.

“May you have equal success with your future partners. Stay thirsty. From your friends at Havas New York,” the ad reads.
There’s also a handy phone number at the bottom, should you find yourself in need of a new agency. Go ahead and give it a ring. No one is going to answer, because as the recorded message says, they’re “probably off doing something interesting right now.”
“The ad we placed celebrates the campaign’s numerous successes, as well as the many people who have touched it through the years,” says Laura Maness, CEO of Havas New York. “It’s a tribute to everything we’ve accomplished with Heineken USA, and we wanted to remind everyone, from the client to the marketplace, of the campaign’s far-reaching impact. Bravery is what made this campaign great, and bravery is what brands need to be successful in today’s market.”
Best of luck to Droga5.
