Dentsu Aegis Network Acquires Brand and Design Agency Character

Dentsu Aegis Network has acquired San Francisco-based branding and design agency Character.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1999 by partner, director of strategy Ben Pham, partner, creative director Rishi Shourie and partner, creative director Tish Evangelista, Character has worked with clients including Amazon, Google, Facebook, Fitbit and Essential. In 2011, the agency added partner, managing director Oliver Ralph. The acquisition follows the recent arrival of Chris Bruyere from Reebok as managing director of its new Portland, Oregon office.

Character will retain its current leadership team following the acquisition, which will report to Dentsu Aegis Network Americas CEO Nick Brien.
