Beringer Capital, Adweek’s Parent Company, Acquires Ecommerce Agency Blue Acorn

Founder Kevin Eichelberger will retain CEO role

Blue Acorn is based in Charleston, S.C.

Blue Acorn, an ecommerce firm focused on data, design and optimization, has been acquired by Beringer Capital for an undisclosed sum. The agency’s leadership will continue to operate independently, and Blue Acorn founder Kevin Eichelberger will stay on as CEO.

Prior to Blue Acorn, Beringer’s most recent investment was the purchase of Adweek from the publication’s previous owner, Mediabistro Holdings, in July 2016.

Based in Charleston, S.C., Blue Acorn describes itself as a data-driven ecommerce firm focused on design, development and optimization. Its clients include Le Creuset, Yeti, Everlast, Rebecca Minkoff and Hoover.

“We are excited to partner with Blue Acorn and provide them with the resources they need to expand upon their success and explore broader, deeper capabilities,” said Perry Miele, chairman of Beringer Capital, in a statement.

As part of the deal with Beringer, Blue Acorn’s management team will maintain a “significant equity interest in the company,” according to a statement from the companies.
