As the fawning coverage of Apple’s iPhone shows, design certainly matters. Simplicity, very in; feature creep, not so much. Another case in point: these days, Google can seemingly do no wrong, while Yahoo! is beat up for just about everything. One of the main complaints about Yahoo!, of course, is that it tries to shove all of its services down users’ throats through its portal start page.
