Who’s the creepiest mascot of them all?
With the King being in the news so much these days for his overt creepiness, it’s easy to forget that when it comes to fast-food mascots, creepiness is actually central to the genre. Thus, we’re linking this morning to a list of the Top 10 Creepiest Fast Food Mascots. Of course, the King is No. 1—how could he not be?—but the list also includes relatively obscure characters such as McDonald’s morbidly obese Grimace and what the list calls “The Quiznos Rat/Hamster Thing” (its proper name is the Spongmonkey). As to why we used a picture here of Mister Softee (No. 5 on the list), he may be creepy, but we like his hairdo. Via Pop Candy.
