VW's Little Vader, Meet Marvel's Little Thor Super Bowl ad spoofed in new movie trailer
It's been a few months since the Super Bowl, but Volkswagen's "The Force" commercial is still a force to be reckoned with. That spot—probably the best loved from this year's big game—gets an amusing parody here from Marvel, as part of its marketing campaign for the movie Thor. Where the VW spot had Little Vader, the Marvel spot introduces Little Thor—another pint-size would-be hero who's having trouble asserting his force of will around the family home. In the VW ad, a remote car-start feature on the Passat made Little Vader feel omnipotent. In the Marvel spot … well, Little Thor turns out to pack more of a punch than we expected. It's not quite the same without the Imperial March, but Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" will have to suffice. Thor hits theaters May 6.
