Video-game sequel brings epic old ad to life
It's rare that a video-game ad actually shows any footage from the game itself, but Nintendo's epic 2001 commercial for Golden Sun (shown below) really took liberties in creating a symphonic showdown between good and evil. The spot is visually stunning, but fans spent a decade wondering how it was related to the game. Now, they have a belated answer. A new sequel, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, actually features the "chandelier dragon" shown at the end of the ad. We've posted the game footage after the jump for comparison. While some players are wondering if the game designers had this creature in mind all along, it's a safer bet that this is a case of a commercial inspiring a creative idea rather than just stealing one.
