Vampire Weekend scores with holiday spots
Vampire Weekend are certainly padding their bank account this holiday season. This new Honda Civic ad from ad agency RPA uses the same song, "Holiday," as that Tommy Hilfiger spot we mentioned last week. The song is perfect for commercials, because it's bouncy enough to be a jingle and still ignorable enough not to outshine the product being featured. It's also the whitest, blandest music there is (the Stuff White People Like guy even said so), and so of course we're going to be hearing it in conjunction with insufferable preppiness until the end of time. Or at least until marketers discover Fang Island.
