Unsweetened Federer hypes Lindt chocolate

Federer-lindt

We've slammed Roger Federer for his faulty commercial acting before. It'd be a cheap shot to do so again, so here goes: In this ad by Gotham for Lindt chocolates, timed to coincide with the U.S. Open, Federer plays second string to a couple of wiseacre airport-security chicks. Rog's trademark fidgety, awkward performance steals the show—for better or worse, depending on your personal taste. Why stop him from boarding with the Swiss chocolates, anyway? Is he going to hijack the flight with deliciousness? As for his acting, I've got a theory. In all of his commercial appearances, the guy's been portraying himself. And as his 16 Grand Slam titles attest, playing Roger Federer is usually a losing proposition.
