Try some more creepy-ass McDonald's ads
Blog of Hilarity would like to make the point that McDonald's has been a staple of American culture for a long time, but its advertising has been a bubbling cauldron of weird for just as long. They mention the McDonaldland spot that bewildered us back in March, and also bring up the first appearances of Ronald McDonald (who looked and sounded like a menacing carny) and the Hamburglar (who seems more tragic figure than criminal). And of course Japan introduced Lady McDonald to the canon, in what must have been an attempt to capitalize on a Bugs Bunny-esque cross-dressing sight gag, because we refuse to believe anyone found her sexually appealing. In fact, we need an eye-wash station after seeing that.
